The primary purpose of a vehicular ID placard is to identify the vehicle as having a group/membership association, particular rights, ownership and/or access. Vehicle identification has many forms; from a hanging REARVIEW-MIRROR tag; to a municipal PARKING PLACARD; to a simple affixed WINDSHIELD STICKER. Once the level of visibility and security sophistication needed is determined, GIS will then determine appropriate counterfeiting deterrence measures to be used. Such security features can be embedded HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGES images and/or transparentHOLOGRAPHIC OVERLAYS.

After analyzing use and security requirements, GIS can customize a unique product to facilitate any municipality, emergency service agency, private parking facility, school, church, and other private organization with a solution to their specialized vehicle identification needs. Depending on the client’s requirements GIS can provide printing, database and production services or, for various types of vehicular ID.
